Arkansas man said he 'thought it would be fun' to run from police after arrest

According to the sheriff, he said he ran because he "was watching Cops earlier and I have a warrant, so I thought it would be fun."

An Arkansas man has been arrested for multiple warrants after a police chase Tuesday morning.

According to the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, detectives noticed a driver in a 2014 blue Ford truck trying to conceal his face as he passed the intersection of highways 38 and 31.

Shortly after that moment, the truck sped off "at a high rate of speed." The driver of the truck, 28-year-old Neil Clem, was reportedly driving as fast as 90 miles per hour during the chase.

The police chase went through a yard and a field in the Sylvania community before spike strips were deployed. Although the strips were unsuccessful, the truck got "disabled" in a ditch.

Clem exited the truck and ran on foot but captured shortly after.

When Sheriff John Staley asked him why he ran he reportedly said, "We was watching Cops earlier and I have a warrant so I thought it would be fun."

Police say he has three failure to appear warrants. One in Lonoke County, one in Cabot and one in Ward.

He has also been charged with fleeing in a vehicle, reckless driving, driving on a suspended driver's license and fleeing on foot.

A female passenger inside the truck was released with no charges.
