Arrest made after deputy pursuit ends in crash in Pine Bluff

Police say 22-year-old Corjalon Evans was wanted for aggravated robbery, theft of property, and battery in Jefferson County.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, a suspect wanted for aggravated robbery, theft of property, and battery in Jefferson County has been arrested.

Police say they were notified a wanted suspect, 22-year-old Corjalon Evans, was spotted in a vehicle near the area of West 23rd Ave in Pine Bluff at 2:33 p.m. on Tuesday. 

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, which also included a female passenger, but the speed began to increase, initiating a pursuit.

It has been reported that Evans hit a vehicle on Blake Street in Pine Bluff during the pursuit and ended the pursuit by crashing into a White Hall Police Department vehicle.

Police also said Evans climbed out of the driver's side window in an attempt to flee, but was apprehended by K-9 Soder.  

No injuries have been reported. All involved parties will be transported to the hospital.
