Fort Smith Police arrest double-homicide suspect

Police say they have arrested one man for the July killing of two northwest Arkansas residents.

FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - Police say they have arrested one man for the July killing of two northwest Arkansas residents, but they are still searching nationwide for a second man who is believed to be armed and dangerous.

The Fort Smith Police Department said Friday they have arrested 19-year-old Neirod Medlock who was already being held for two counts of kidnapping at Sebastian County Adult Detention Center. Police say there is a nationwide search for 29-year-old Marcus Collins.

The shooting was reported July 26 a at a Fort Smith apartment complex. There, police found 26-year-old Brionna S. Belcher and 43-year-old Jonathan Harris dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on Collins's to call the Fort Smith Police Department and are offering a cash reward of up to $1,000.
