Police: 22-year-old charged with capital murder for West Little Rock shooting

A 22-year-old man has been charged with capital murder for the shooting death of 18-year-old Ja’Markeise Gage in West Little Rock.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Update: A 22-year-old man has been charged with capital murder for the shooting death of 18-year-old Ja’Markeise Gage in West Little Rock. 

Shortly before 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, officers with the Little Rock Police Department responded to the 11500 block of West Markham Street with reports of a shooting.

According to reports, once officers arrived at the scene they found a victim dead at the intersection of Markham and Chenal.

Little Rock police identified the victim in Tuesday afternoon's homicide as 18-year-old Ja’Markeise Gage.

Reports state that he died of an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. The body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy.
