Escaped inmate from Texarkana jail caught

Johnson was being escorted within the recreation yard at approximately 6:40 p.m., May 16, when he suddenly bolted.

UPDATE: At approximately 9:50 p.m., Casey Johnson was taken back into custody by Texarkana police. He was found on Stateline Drive, just a few blocks from the Texarkana center. He will be transferred to more secure housing.

Johnson will likely face a third degree escape charge.

ORGINAL: TEXARKANA, Ark. (KTHV) - Arkansas Community Correction and other law enforcement agencies are searching for Casey Johnson, an inmate at the Southwest Arkansas Community Correction Center in Texarkana.

Johnson was being escorted within the recreation yard at approximately 6:40 p.m., May 16, when he suddenly bolted.

He is serving a five-year sentence out of Miller county for possession of drug paraphernalia. He arrived at the center April 30.
