Little Rock woman shoots boyfriend after he allegedly beat her

On Sunday, Jan. 5 at 8:25 a.m., Little Rock police responded to an assault where the caller advised she just shot her boyfriend.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Sunday, Jan. 5 at 8:25 a.m., Little Rock police responded to an assault where the caller advised she just shot her boyfriend.

As officers walked up to an apartment door on Pleasant Ridge Circle, 23-year-old Courtni Hampton of Little Rock came out of the front with her hands up. 

Hampton was placed in handcuffs and placed in the patrol car. Hampton then stated her boyfriend was "beating on her," so she shot him.

The on-scene officers entered the apartment and found Hampton's boyfriend. The male victim was transported to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
