North Little Rock man charged with murder after body found inside burned house

North Little Rock police have made an arrest after a body was found inside a home that caught on fire.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The North Little Rock Police Department has arrested one person in connection to a house fire where a body was found inside.

According to a press release, police arrested 43-year-old John Murdock on February 2 in connection the case.

On January 18, police and first responders arrived to 17 Quillen Street to a house fire.

Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters found the body of 32-year-old Joshua Watson inside.

During the investigation, police concluded Watson's death was a homicide. Detectives were reportedly told that he was shot.

Murdock has been charged with first degree murder and is being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.
