The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened Tuesday morning sometime before 8 a.m.
According to Sergeant Amy Cooper, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Rimrock after a 911 call referenced a black male walking down the street with a handgun.
By that time the suspect had entered an apartment where the officers made contact and proceeded to negotiate with the suspect.
After an unknown amount of time, the suspect allegedly walked out of the front door of the apartment with a handgun presented toward the officers. Two officers fired shots and the suspect was transported to a local hospital.
Police have not released any other details at this time.
