Police: 3 dead, 1 critically injured in midtown Little Rock shooting

Little Rock police are investigating a Friday night shooting that left three people dead and another person critically injured.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock police are investigating a Friday night shooting that left three people dead and another person critically injured.

At 10:42 p.m., officers received a shots fired call near the intersection of West 14th and Peyton streets.

Upon arrival, officers found a wrecked black Jeep Renegade that had three people inside suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers also found a 17-year-old male outside a house suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to LRPD Lt. Michael Ford.

The 17-year-old was transported to an area hospital and is currently in critical condition.

Two other victims were transported to area hospitals and later died from their injuries, while one victim died on the scene.

The victims who died have been identified as Carrington Williams, Latija Luckey and Kennelle Anderson -- all of which were under 20-years-old.

"Our heart goes out to the families of these victims," LRPD Interim Chief Alice Fulk said. "This is a horrible, tragic crime that was committed. Not only losing a loved one, but losing a loved one at the time near the holidays that makes it even harder."

Homicide detectives were conducting a neighborhood canvass Saturday morning as the crime scene unit collected evidence.

During the press release, Fulk also mentioned that there was another homicide within the same 24-hour period that occurred at 3109 West 17th Street at approximately at 3 a.m. Friday. The victim was 44-year-old Corey Jackson. The department does not currently believe the two cases are related.

"We have seen a reduction in violent crime this past year and I am committed to continue that effort," Fulk said. "So far, we have had a 27 percent decrease in homicides this year. We have had a 26 percent decrease in non-fatal shootings this year."

Fulk also said that there was a $10,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest. She continued to stress the importance of community assistance. Right now, LRPD has no suspect information.

"My cousins they didn't even get to live to see 20 and it's heartbreaking for our family," Antonio Holly, cousin to some of the victims, said. "If anybody knew anything just help us out."

Anyone with information is asked to call (501) 371-4636.

Lt. Ford said the investigation is in the very early stages, and they are going to continue working non-stop until they reach a resolution.
