Police say Little Rock man thought he was holding airsoft gun before fatal shooting

Little Rock police arrested 21-year-old Patrick Bennett in connection with a shooting on Fair Park Boulevard early Thursday morning.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock police have arrested 21-year-old Patrick Bennett on one count of manslaughter after a shooting that took place early Thursday morning at the 2100 block of Fair Park Boulevard.

On November 30, around 2:30 a.m., Little Rock police responded to a call at a local hospital about a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead around 4 a.m. at the hospital, and his next of kin was notified. He has been identified as 20-year-old Devan Sprawling.

Police obtained a search warrant for the residence, and during the investigation, officers discovered that Latrey Holloway and Bert Zinamon tampered with the crime scene, destroying evidence. Police also found narcotics at the residence. Holloway was charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence, and Zinamon was charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence. Both were taken to the Pulaski County jail.

Also during the investigation, police identified Bennett as the suspect who shot Sprawling and transported him to the Pulaski County Jail on the manslaughter charge. According to the arrest report, Bennett stated he thought he was holding an airsoft gun when he pulled the trigger.
