Saline County arrests made in connection with animal cruelty videos

On Sunday, Feb. 3, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 3600 block of Centark Circle for a report of animal cruelty.

ALEXANDER, Ark. — On Sunday, Feb. 3, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 3600 block of Centark Circle for a report of animal cruelty.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they met with the Bryant Police Department officers to make contact with the suspects; who were depicted in videos on Facebook in which they were injuring a cat and a dog.

After speaking with the suspects, 18-year-old Marlin Sims 21-year-old Katherine Farmer, both of Alexander, deputies determined that they were the two that had injured the animals in the video. 

Both Sims and Farmer were charged with Cruelty to Animals, an unclassified misdemeanor.

The Saline County sheriff's deputies seized two cats and a dog from the home and have taken them to a local animal care facility.
