Searcy man shot while running from residential robbery

The 27-year-old victim was visiting a home when he saw two robbers. He was shot at twice while trying to get away.

SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) - Searcy police are looking for two suspects, described as two black males in their early twenties, for an attempted robbery and shooting.

Police responded Tuesday, June 12, to West Woodruff Avenue for a shots-fired call, during which they found a 27-year-old man shot in the lower back.

According to Searcy police, the victim said he was "visiting a female [when] two black males attempted to rob him."

The victim said one suspect was already in the home when he went inside. When he saw the suspect and tried to leave, the other suspect was outside.

The victim said he was shot twice, once in the lower back and another time grazing his back, while trying to run from the house.

When police arrived, he was taken to the Unity Health emergency room with non-life threatening injuries.
