SEARCY, Ark. — On Friday, Feb. 8, at approximately 7:20 p.m., officers with the Searcy Police Department were called to the Searcy Walmart Supercenter for an Aggravated Robbery call.
It was reported that a male approached employees in the Money Center where he brandished a knife and demanded cash from the employee. The suspect then left the store.
Prior to SPD officers arriving, an officer with the Arkansas Highway Patrol was able to stop the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Supercenter. When Searcy officers arrived, they were able to locate evidence associated with the robbery and were then able to identify the suspect as 69-year-old Eddie Ray Myers of Searcy.
Myers did get money from the employee, but it was recovered when he was arrested.
Myers was later transported to the White County Law Enforcement Center and charged with Aggravated Robbery a Class Y Felony and Theft of Property a Class B Felony.
