Several stabbed, one dead after North Little Rock 'crime spree'

Police say they were called to four different locations regarding stabbings, beginning just before 9 a.m. on Saturday.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — According to North Little Rock police, 44-year-old Barron Brown has been arrested for stabbing several people and killing one.

Police say they were called to four different crime scenes on July 11 in reference to stabbings. They say the 'crime spree' began at approximately 8:52 a.m. where Barron stabbed his first victim.

Police say he then walked to several other locations where he stabbed other victims.

Around 10:05 a.m., police located Brown and took him into custody.

Several of the victims were either treated on site or transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

One victim, who was stabbed on S. Woodland St., died from his wounds. The victim was later identified as 68-year-old Johnny Mensie of North Little Rock.

Brown was booked into the Pulaski County Jail and charged with 1st degree murder, 2nd degree battery, and two counts of 2nd degree domestic battery.

This is an active investigation.
