Shooting in front of The Rep leaves juvenile shot, suspect sought

Two men exchanged gunfire on Main Street Saturday night. A juvenile was shot in the foot and arrested after treatment for a burglary warrant.

Two men exchanged gunfire during a high school party at Oak Forest Vintage near The Rep on Main Street. A juvenile was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and taken into custody for a burglary warrant. Between 30 and 35 shell casings were found throughout the parking lot.

The victim said that an unknown suspect started shooting and he went outside. A friend had a handgun and he took it from him to return fire, according to a police report.

He was shot in the leg as he was shooting and running toward Main Street. Nine vehicles were shot during the exchange.

Officers found the juvenile after he gained entry into a white Maserati. They removed him from the vehicle and applied a tourniquet.

While the juvenile was being treated at Arkansas Children's Hospital, it was determined that he was wanted for a separate incident, residential burglary. He was booked into the Pulaski County Detention Center.
