23-year-old Baxter County Sheriff's deputy hit by drunk driver at traffic stop

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, 23-year-old Zappa was hit by a drunk driver while on a traffic stop

BAXTER COUNTY, Ark. — A Baxter County Sheriff's Deputy, Jacob Zappa was injured while on duty Friday, Feb. 15. 

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, 23-year-old Zappa was hit by a drunk driver while on a traffic stop. The deputy was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated, the driver was taken into custody.

Arkansas State Police are working the accident and they will release details at a later time.

Sheriff Montgomery said Zappa was treated and released at the hospital.
