Hot Springs police and fire department working structure fire on Albert Pike, no injuries reported

Hot Springs police responded to a call at 8:17 Tuesday morning at the 300 block of Albert Pike Road.

UPDATE- The Hot Springs Fire Department reports that no occupants were seen inside the structure during the time of demolition.

ORIGINAL- The Hot Springs Fire Department is currently trying to account for residents of a building that was on fire early Tuesday morning at the 300 block of Albert Pike Road. 

A spokesperson for the Hot Springs Police Department says the fire department is trying to determine whether or not anyone was in the apartments in the upper level of the building during the fire. As of Tuesday afternoon, there are no injuries or fatalities reported.

Police responded to a call of a structure fire at around 8:17 Tuesday morning.

Police and the Department of Transportation report that Albert Pike has been cleared as of 3:30p.m. Tuesday, but the fire department is still putting water on the scene and will have a fire truck placed at the location overnight.

The fire department is also using a large backhoe to safely tear down an unstable wall.

Police are encouraging folks to stay away from the scene, as there is rubble that is still hot.
