If your household suffered from flooding-related losses, you may be eligible for assistance

The Arkansas Department of Human Services announced that eligible residents can receive Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas Department of Human Services announced that several Arkansas counties are eligible for disaster benefits to purchase food following the devastating Arkansas River flooding.

If you are a resident in one of these counties:

  • Arkansas
  • Conway
  • Crawford
  • Desha
  • Faulkner
  • Jefferson
  • Logan
  • Perry
  • Pope
  • Pulaski
  • Sebastian 
  • Yell

And your household suffered from disaster-related losses since Tuesday, May 21, you may be eligible to receive Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. 

According to DHS, the benefits are provided on an electronic, debit-like card and can be used to buy food items at authorized retailers. 

If your household located in one of the counties mentioned above has suffered:

  • Damage to or destruction of the home or self-employment business
  • Loss or inaccessibility of income, including a reduction or termination of income or a significant delay in receiving income, due to disaster-related problems
  • Disaster-related expenses (home or business repairs, temporary shelter, evacuation, etc.) that are not expected to be reimbursed during the disaster benefit period

The Arkansas Department of Health Services asks for you to apply for D-SNAP benefits in-person starting Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28.

The benefits must be applied for in-person.

D-SNAP applications can be filled at the following locations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • Conway County

  • Desha County
