LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A woman who drowned Monday while swimming in the Gulf at Henderson Beach State Recreation area has been identified as Nori Bracho of Rogers.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff, efforts to revive a 70-year-old Arkansas tourist who had difficulty while swimming with family members in the Gulf of Mexico were not successful.

Bystanders pulled the woman to the shore after she reportedly got into an area where she could not touch the ground and started to panic around 12:30 p.m. at the Henderson Beach State Recreation Area in Destin.

They started CPR until first responders arrived to continue lifesaving measures. EMS then transported her to the Destin Emergency Room but she did not survive.

No other details have been released at this time.
