BEEBE, Ark. (KTHV) - Tonight's homecoming game for the Beebe Badgers has more pageantry surrounding it after students rallied around one student to help her get elected as this year's homecoming queen.

Savanah Grier, a senior at Beebe High School, will be crowned homecoming queen at Beebe's Friday night game against Little Rock Parkview. Savanah has down syndrome. From the hair to the crowd to the game, everything is geared towards Savanah's big night.

"She is loving every minute of it," said her father, Brian Grier. "She is loving the attention from all her friends. She loves smiling and she's getting used to taking more pictures."

The moment is emotional not only for Savanah but also for her family and everyone involved as well. The band, cheerleaders, and the student body all understand what a big event this is for Savanah and the community.

"She's such a sweet-hart and she's nice to everyone and she loves everyone," said one student. "So, we just thought it'd be cool to let her have her own special moment this year."

Friday night will all be about Savanah as she is crowned Beebe's 2016 Homecoming Queen.
