LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Today, Little Rock School District voters hand-delivered a petition to city officials, voicing disagreement with a recently approved bond to pay for a new southwest high school.

LRSD leaders approved the sale of over $90 million worth of bonds after locals voted against a millage extension on May 9. The group Save our Schools said district officials approved the new funding in a special meeting but did not announce it to the public in a timely manner.

One woman said she is searching for answers from leaders but can't find any.

"Right now we are not feeling that our voices are being heard. We are not getting direct answers, we're getting very cookie cutter; very politically correct answers,” she said.

The Arkansas State Board of Education would still have to approve the bond sale before it is finalized.
