LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The fifth annual “Crush for a Cure” event, benefiting the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute is coming to the Arkansas State Fair Oct. 12-22. Over the past 5 years, “Crush for a Cure” has raised over $20,000. The event is sponsored by Steve Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

This event is centered around a clunker vehicle donated by Steve Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram that will be spray-painted pink for breast cancer awareness. For $1 the public can take a swing and “crush” the car.

Steve Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will match each dollar paid, with all proceeds going directly to the cancer institute. The event will be every weekday 3 to 7 p.m. and 1 to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Steve Landers will be taking the first swing with general manager Ivan Figueroa at 4 p.m. Oct. 12 to kick off the event.

Steve Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is excited to also host “Kiss the Chrysler” at 2 p.m., Oct. 19. One representative from their local charity partners will be selected as participants to ‘kiss’ a Chrysler. The contestant that keeps their lips on the Chrysler for the longest in addition to a series of progressively more challenging tasks will win and receive $5,000 for their charity.
