FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) -- This weekend Faulkner County Sheriff's Officer will hold a Sheriff's sale.
It’s an auction where confiscated items like guns, cars, and electronics are sold to the public. There's a lot to choose from, and it all helps the department.
All items will be sold as-is, and there are no returns. Deputies said it’s a great way to buy some normally expensive item at a lower price. Between guns, knives, and even electronics, Faulkner County Sheriff's Office is cleaning out its closet. Adam Bledsoe, deputy for the department, said some fancy and ancient items must be sold in this weekend's sheriff's sale.
"All of these items are available for purchase from anyone in the public, as long as you are not a convicted felon or have any kind of no contest order," Bledsoe said. "These firearms were all either confiscated or somehow or another the sheriff's office took control."
Bledsoe said items would be lined out, and a list of everything will be provided to shoppers. Although it's been a while since their last auction, he said it's nothing out of the ordinary. The goal is to sell as many items possible that will help purchase other equipment needed by the department.
"We obviously want to try to get as much money as we can for this,” Bledsoe said. “It's almost like a fundraiser for us."
With so many items collected a conversation between the Sheriff and investigators led the department to sell things like speakers, bow and arrows and more than 160 guns. This and more will be available to shoppers.
"We have other various items printers and shoes and just all kinds of stuff,” Bledsoe said. “We'll have cars some are in working conditions some may not be."
The auction starts Saturday at 9 a.m., behind the Faulkner County Jail. Deputies recommend you fill out the necessary paperwork ahead of time, for those wanting to buy a gun.
