Gyrocopter crash leaves one dead in Bryant

Around 4:34 p.m. on Saturday, September 3 the Bryant Police Department were notified of a small aircraft accident near the Saline County Regional Airport in Bryant.

BRYANT, Ark. (KTHV) - Around 4:34 p.m. on Saturday, September 3 the Bryant Police Department were notified of a small aircraft accident near the Saline County Regional Airport in Bryant.

Police arrived to the scene and identified a single engine gyrocopter as the small aircraft. When police and fire rescue made their way to the crash site they were able to determine it as a fatal accident.

The FAA will begin investigation on the gyrocopter crash, who was on scene at the airport. So far, they have only revealed the pilot was 75-years-old and the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Early examinations lead investigators to believe the crash occurred due to power failure.

The police have not released the name of the victim in the crash.
