Little Rock School District announces face mask requirement for students, staff

The school district released its Ready for Learning Plan Monday evening which included the announcement of requiring face masks for students and staff.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Little Rock School District released its Ready for Learning Plan Monday evening which included the announcement of requiring face masks for students and staff.

"Per Arkansas Department of Health, PPE (face coverings and shields) is an effective way to minimize exposure to COVID-19; therefore, LRSD will require the use of face coverings," the document says.

The district said that although parents are to ensure their student has a mask to bring, if for whatever reason they aren't able to bring one, the school will provide one.

Visitation to schools within the district will also be limited, according to LRSD.

"Campus and facility visitation will be limited to essential business only. All visitors will be screened prior to entering the building and will be required to wear a face covering," LRSD said.
