One dead after homicide on Dahlia Drive in Little Rock, suspect arrested

According to the Little Rock Police Department, a homicide took place on Dahlia Drive and officers are on the scene.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Sunday, Sept. 20, at approximately 6:59 p.m., officers were dispatched to Dahlia Drive in reference to a shooting. 

Upon officers arrival, 24-year-old Nicholas Taylor of Sherwood, was located in the front yard of the residence suffering from gunshots wounds.

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene

Vincent Mitchell, 54 of Little Rock, who was still on scene, was identified as a person of interest in the shooting and was taken into custody by responding officers. 

According to LRSD, Mitchell is the step-grandfather of Taylor.

The Pulaski County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and transported Taylor’s remains to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy. 

After interviewing the parties involved and assessing the Crime Scene, Homicide Detectives charged Mitchell with second-degree murder.

He was then transported to the Pulaski County Jail and booked in on that charge.
