Suspect shot after allegedly entering Little Rock police officer's apartment

The Little Rock Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The Little Rock Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting.

Police said the shooting occurred on Tuesday morning at Bowman Heights Apartments at 420 Markham Mesa Place. They confirmed that 23-year-old Cartiar Warner was shot by the off-duty police officer Brian Osmundson.

The officer who shot Warner lives in the apartment complex where the shooting occurred. Police said the officer fired shots after Warner tried to enter the apartment and broke a window.

When other officers arrived on scene, the suspect was suffering from multiple gunshots wounds and said that "his name was God."

The man is said to be in serious condition and charges are pending.

Officer Osmundson has been placed on administrative leave until the investigation is completed.
