Paddleboard of missing Maumelle woman found, family says

According to the sheriff's office, the woman went paddle-boarding on Wednesday and never returned home.

MAUMELLE, Ark. — Update: The body of Ashley Haynes was found along the Arkansas River around noon on Jan. 16, according to Maumelle police.

Authorities are searching for a Maumelle woman who disappeared Wednesday while paddleboarding on the Arkansas River.

In a press release, the Maumelle Police Department identified the woman as Ashley Haynes, a resident of the city.

Family members reported Haynes missing at about 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 12, according to police.

Haynes was last seen leaving the Maumelle side of the Arkansas River on her paddleboard. Now, multiple local and state agencies are searching for her.

According to family and friends of Ashley Haynes, her paddle board has been located. 

She was last seen wearing black or dark blue neoprene wet suit with sleeves, ankle or knee length. Crews continue searching for her on and around the river.  

Law enforcement asks civilians in boats to avoid the area as they search.
