A 17-year-old has been arrested after an off-duty Little Rock police officer came out of a Subway bathroom to find the teen trying to rob the sandwich shop.

According to the police report, after the officer's shift ended they went to the Subway on South Cedar Street near UAMS to order a sandwich. The officer then went to the bathroom to wash their hands. While inside the bathroom, the officer stated they heard yelling, "which sounded like commands for people to get on the ground."

Once the officer exited the bathroom, still in full uniform, they noticed 17-year-old Cameron Kingsby. Police say Kingsby was pointing a gun at the Subway employees.

The report said Kingsby ran out of the restaurant and a foot pursuit began, but ended after the officer asked him to get on the ground.

Police say the alleged gun was found near the door of the sandwich shop with a round in the chamber.

LRPD have charged Kingsby as an adult for aggravated robbery, minor in possession of a handgun, and fleeing.

No court date has been announced at this time.
