Are there restrictions on outdoor Christmas decorations? | 11 Listens

While there are no rules pertaining to residential lights, each city does have a noise ordinance in place.

Whether it's excessive light displays or noisy Christmas decorations, each year around the holidays, neighbors often ask if there are any rules and regulations for outdoor Christmas displays.

We called around and checked with the city of Little Rock, North Little Rock, Conway and Jacksonville. While there are no rules pertaining to residential lights, each city does have a noise ordinance in place.

So, if you're planning to have music displays playing through the night, you may want take a look at the ordinance where you live.

In Little Rock, the city prohibits the playing of any type of audio equipment, or any musical instrument, particularly during the hours between 10:30 p.m. And 7 a.m.

In Jacksonville, it's from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and in North Little Rock and Conway neighbors aren't allowed to disturb any other residences with music between the hours of 11 p.m. And 7 a.m.
