LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Since the planning for the Fallen Firefighters Memorial at the Arkansas State Capitol began, THV11 has partnered with the organization, and we are excited to host a “Helping Home” donation event this Friday.

THV11 will be helping raise money for the organization’s memorial fund which works, in part, to provide the following:

- Upkeep for the Fallen Firefighters Memorial

- Fire safety kits

- A second hood for area firefighters to wear. In many cases, central Arkansas firefighters have only one hood they should wash after being on the scene of the fire due to contamination. The problem, however, is that often times, they are called out to another fire before they can get it washed, thus exposing themselves to chemicals.

Community members can donate online at arfallenfighters.org.

THV11 will be live Friday night at Central Fire Station on 7th and Chester streets between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. sharing more information on the need.

Plus, Saturday marks the organization's annual event at the memorial site at 1 p.m. THV11's Amanda Jaeger will read the names of the fallen.
