Craig O’Neill visits the last school on the Reading Roadtrip for 2017-18 season

Craig O'Neill makes his last Reading Roadtrip stop for the 2017-2018 season at Oakbrooke Elementary School in Sherwood.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Oakbrooke Elementary third graders will forever be known as the last stop on the 64 school, 5,000 plus kid reading tour known as Craig’s Reading Roadtrip.

They heard about 13 extraordinary women who inspired Chelsea Clinton to write “She Persisted.”

These stories of women who followed their dreams against all odds include judges, Nobel prize winners, environmental activists, educators and more. Chelsea could write another book based on the third graders because after the reading Craig wanted to know if any of the kids had their own, personal story of persistence.

Normally at this point, we thank everyone involved and say, “That’s a wrap,” and that would be it. But, in two weeks be watching for the Library version of the reading roadtrip. The theme this year in Arkansas libraries is “Libraries Rock.” Wait until you see our version! It all begins in Warren June 7.
