Craig visits the Hogwarts of central Arkansas, where students share the magic of reading

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - At Harris Elementary in North Little Rock, students love their stories -- especially fantasy fiction. And, their entire school has been divided into four houses. You know, like Hogwarts.

There’s the House of Learning, the House of Love, the House of Greatness and the House of Respect. Craig O’Neill would like to add one more: The House of Reading.

Each house has its own logo, mission statement and look. The houses are prominently displayed in the hallways and it’s obvious the kids have responded to their different identities.

Quite frankly, there is no need though to make a separate House of Reading. The whole school is devoted to stories, reading and developing a lifetime relationship with books.

After all, the whole school has been influenced by literature. Now if a castle suddenly appears in McAlmont, you’ll know they’ve taken that Hogwarts thing to a new level.
