LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Sharon Freyaldenhoven of Conway is best known for her work with Rotary and the Conway Chamber of Commerce. But now, she is adding something new to her resume: Children’s book author.

She has just published her first book: “How Santa Got a Unicorn for Christmas”

Craig O’Neill read it to the pre-K kids (age 4) at Little Rock Christian, and they loved it. It even upstaged the always popular “Night before Christmas.”

It’s the story of how a unicorn replaces Rudolph and saves Christmas, and the kids loved it. It combined Christmas and Santa and a unicorn. It was a can't-miss event.

Proof again, in the world of children’s literature, anything is possible. Little Rock Christian has a gift shop where kids go shopping, using points they earn for reading. Kids are given certain reading goals, and how they meet those

Goals determine the points they earn. The gift shop has some pretty good prizes. No word on how many points a unicorn book earns, though.
