Pine Bluff police chase, arrest teen for having guns

A teacher at the center noticed a handgun in an open pocket of a 17-year-old student's backpack. The teacher then notified a school administrator and police.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) - A 17-year-old boy was arrested at the Jefferson Area Technical Career Center after a brief foot chase with police.

A teacher at the center noticed a handgun in an open pocket of a 17-year-old student’s backpack. The teacher then notified a school administrator and police.

When the administrator confiscated the backpack and began to escort the juvenile, the teenager ran.

Officers that arrived on the scene chased the boy and arrested him shortly thereafter.

A .22lr pistol and a RG 10 revolver were found in the backpack. The boy was arrested and taken to the detective office for questioning.
