LITTLE ROCK, Ark.(KTHV) - A new Little Rock store is designed to donate, bringing hope to teens who will age out of foster care in the state of Arkansas.
Live Thankfully Boutique is a charitable, upscale resale shop which offers high-end merchandise with a mission to change lives.
"This is our boutique section," said Ann Claire Cook, who showed off the selection. "We have a lot of dresses."
Walk through the doors of the new boutique and you'll see a neatly decorated shop selling upscale women's clothing, accessories, and home goods according to Cook. She said it was her mother's idea to open up the shop.
"We have super nice brands. We have Louis Vuitton, we have Coach, we have a Prada skirt in our small section," she said.
But Cook said this boutique tucked into a shopping center on Rodney Parham Road has something extra.
"I'm a volunteer here, my mom who started it is a volunteer, so no one takes a profit here," Cook explained. "Every single dollar goes to these two non-profits."
Cook said that everything sold in the store was pre-owned and donated.
"People just bring it in and you get a tax receipt," she said.
And when shoppers make a purchase, they help teens in the community who are aging out of foster care. Cook said the shop, a mission project for the owner, donates all proceeds to Immerse Arkansas.
"All of our donors are sponsoring us and they're sponsoring Immerse Arkansas and they're sponsoring your lives by just dropping off a pair of shoes they didn't wear anymore," Cook said.
The boutique will take big furniture items too, and even come pick them up for you.
