LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – In the midst of one of the hottest weeks of the year so far, thousands are without power in Maumelle after a brief fire that damaged three circuits on Wednesday.
According to an employee at Entergy, at around 10:15 a.m. there was a “flash,” or a quick fire that lasted just a few seconds. However, it impacted three circuits, knocking out power to 5300 customers.
Right now, about 1900 customers are back on. Other customers are receiving text messages updating their restoration time.
Some are due to regain power at 6:30 p.m. (about 1,200) with the remaining 2,200 should have power on by 4 p.m.
Entergy is still not aware of what caused the flash, citing that it could have possibly been an animal.
