Arkansas veterans honored during Hometown Heroes event

On Monday, dozens of people gathered at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum in North Little Rock to honor the hometown heroes that have served our nation.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - On Monday, dozens of people gathered at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum in North Little Rock to honor the hometown heroes that have served our nation.

The event was hosted from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. by the Razorback Base.

The veterans honored were:

  • Sam Morath, who served in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War.
  • James W. Woods, who served in World War II.
  • Ben Maness, who served in World War II.
  • Eugene L. Prohl, who served in the Korean War.
  • Robert L. Atkins, who served in the Korean War.
  • Thomas K. Williams, who served in the Vietnam War.
  • Robert Fureigh, who served in the Vietnam War.
  • Dr. Vic Snyder, who served in the Vietnam War.
  • Thomas Kleck, who served in the Vietnam War.

Refreshments were served by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Gen. T.J. Churchill Chapter and the United States Daughters of 1812.
