DALLAS -- A Dallas police officer was injured in a crash just before a funeral procession was set to take place to honor one of the officers killed in last week's downtown Dallas attack.
The officer, who was on a motorcycle, crashed near State Highway 161 and Gateway in Irving just after 10 a.m.

Dallas police say the officer is stable at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Irving police say the officer was slowing down traffic ahead of where the funeral procession for DPD Sr. Cpl. Lorne Ahrens was headed.
The officer, who had his lights on, took "evasive action" to avoid colliding with a vehicle.
DPD says the officer wasn't part of the actual procession itself, and he was awake and communicating after the incident.
