NEW YORK (AP) - So many jazz enthusiasts want to be buried near the graves of such greats as Miles Davis and Duke Ellington that a New York City cemetery is developing land to meet the demand.

Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx is building 2,275 new burial plots near its "Jazz Corner," the final resting place of Davis, Ellington and Lionel Hampton.

Pauline Smith says she loves jazz and wants to be next to her favorite stars, even in the afterlife. That's why the 74-year-old New Rochelle woman says she bought her plot in the Jazz Corner about three years ago.

Earlier this year, the cemetery opened up 70 burial plots behind Davis' grave, and almost all of them have already been sold.
