Religious freedom fails to pass in Arkansas

Arkansas voters have chosen to deny the passage of religious freedom in the 2022 elections.

ARKANSAS, USA — The Associated Press has now projected that voters have voted "NO" to passing Issue 3 by about 7,500 votes in the 2022 elections.

Issue 3 was aimed at religious freedom in Arkansas, to put a limit on legal language that can be used to impact religious practices, such as the government closing churches due to a spreading virus.

The issue was originally crafted on the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which first tried to clear things up when it passed Congress in 1994.

This was the last major statewide election race to be called for the 2022 Midterms.
