LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - It is Christmas Eve, and THV11's Craig O'Neill has his own twist to the holiday classic "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."

Craig's Twist to 'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas

And all through the home

Not a sound could be heard

The family all had smart phones

Which is why when they lay down

For their long winter's nap

They knew Santa had their wish list

Because of the North Pole App

I waited and waited and waited some more

I began to nod off and started to snore

When suddenly there was in the room a crash

There stood Santa with our Christmas stash

I had to ask why the delay

It took him forever to get here with the slay

And that's when Santa started to groan

And told me his sleigh had been mistaken for a drone

He was forced to land at the air force base

And go into detail and state his case

It meant filling out forms

And getting permission to fly

And by the time he resumed

Hours had gone by

But though off schedule Santa never growled

He never complained, screamed or howled

He unpacked every package, every X-Box, every toy

With a countenance of peace and overwhelming joy

I told him I was surprised by his cheery attitude

Then he told me how tired he was of the world being rude

That he wished he could spread joy to last all year

And put an end to choices made out of anger and fear

He left me smiling as he flew up the chimney

I'd forgotten to ask to grant another year of Hunter Henry

And off he flu into that wonderful night

And I had the distinct feeling things would be all right

And I heard him proclaim as he headed back to the North Pole

Remember that peace is a path. . .it's not a goal
