BENTON, Ark. — One of the state title contenders in the 6A saw their season come to an end unexpectedly Thursday night.

The Benton Panthers informed the AAA they must forfeit their opening round playoff game against Marion due to 33 players being forced to quarantine due to close contact to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

The Panthers finish the 2020 season 6-4. Benton finished 6A runner up in 2019 after falling to Searcy in the state title game.
