FAYETTEVILLE, Ark — It's going to be a father-son duo in Fayetteville as Friday, Chandler Morris, son of Arkansas head coach, Chad Morris, announced his commitment to the Razorbacks.
Morris was elevated to a 4-star prospect by 247 Sports earlier this week. Per the composite rankings, Morris is the No. 10 dual-threat quarterback in the country and the No. 50 overall prospect in the state of Texas.
Out of Highland Park (Dallas), Morris led his team to the Class 5A Division I State championship during his junior season, completing 262 of 410 pass attempts for 4,010 yards, 46 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He also ran 133 times for 647 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Morris is already familiar with Arkansas redshirt-freshman quarterback, John Stephen Jones. Morris sat behind him as a sophomore during Highland Park's state championship run.
Arkansas already has multiple young quarterbacks on the roster, with graduate transfer, Ben Hicks, being the lone senior. Nick Starkel is coming in from Texas A&M with two years of eligibility remaining, while Connor Noland, Jones, Daulton Hyatt and KJ Jefferson round out the position group.
