FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas cornerback Tevin Mitchel has been selected by the Washington Redskins as the sixth pick of the sixth round (182nd overall) in the 2015 National Football League Draft.

Mitchel is the 27th Arkansas defensive back to be selected in the NFL draft and the 14th Razorback to be drafted by the Redskins following the selection of Arkansas linebacker Martrell Spaight earlier in the fifth round.

The native of Mansfield, Texas is the seventh Razorback to be drafted under second-year head coach Bret Bielema. Mitchel is Bielema's third defensive back to be drafted in his eight-year head coaching career.

In his four-year playing career, Mitchel has appeared in 43 contests and logged 157 tackles, 22 passes defended and four interceptions, including a pick-six in 2013.

During his senior season, Mitchel recorded 47 tackles, one interception and five pass breakups. As a freshman, Mitchel notched 56 tackles and one fumble recovery, earning him SEC All-Freshman Team selection.
