LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Forget the Golden State Warriors or New England Patriots. The real dynasty is right here in Little Rock.

The Little Rock Trojan women’s basketball team captured their third straight regular season Sun Belt conference championship over the weekend. Now they head to the conference tournament in New Orleans with the number one seed.

Junior Kyra Collier says “it feels good, we just want to get down there, play hard and come out with the win.” Great news for this team is the tournament format. By securing the #1 seed the Trojans are automatically in the semifinals just two wins away from an NCAA tournament appearance.

Sun Belt co-player of the year Ronjanae DeGray couldn’t be happier. “That is amazing, because the way my body feels I don’t know if I could go a game tomorrow, then rest and then two games after that.”

Little Rock is seeking back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances after a first round exit in 2018 against Florida State. “Oh my gosh, if we can make it two years in a row that is not very common in our league. Except for I guess us, but I’m excited if we can win two we’re going dancing, we’re going dancing! I’m excited and I hope we can make it.”
