North Little Rock's head football coach, Jamie Mitchell, has announced his resignation.

Mitchell said he is stepping down to pursue other opportunities. Mitchell led the Charging Wildcats to four straight 7A state title game appearances including a 2017 state championship win.

The North Little Rock school board voted Mitchell in as head football coach by a unanimous vote in 2015, replacing former head coach Brad Bolding.

Before coming to Arkansas, Mitchell was the head football coach and assistant athletic director at Starkville High School in Starkville, Mississippi for five seasons.

Mitchell was with North Little Rock through five seasons.
