Razorback women capture SEC Golf Championship

Arkansas captured its first SEC Women's Golf Championship on Sunday defeating South Carolina 3-2 in match play competition at Greystone Golf and Country Club. The Razorbacks clinched the title when Kaylee Benton lagged a putt to within a foot of the hole on the 18th hole of the final match of the day. The tap in putt was conceded by the Gamecocks giving the Razorbacks the victory.

HOOVER, Ala. (Univ. of Ark.) — Arkansas captured its first SEC Women’s Golf Championship on Sunday defeating South Carolina 3-2 in match play competition at Greystone Golf and Country Club. The Razorbacks clinched the title when Kaylee Benton lagged a putt to within a foot of the hole on the 18th hole of the final match of the day. The tap in putt was conceded by the Gamecocks giving the Razorbacks the victory.

Arkansas head coach Shauna Taylor became the first in conference history to win the SEC title as both a player and as a head coach.
