Romo dazzles in AFC Championship Game broadcast

The former Cowboys quarterback put on a show during the AFC title game

DALLAS — Of course, what Tony Romo is doing isn't "predicting" the action, per se.

But what he is doing, is essentially playing quarterback from the booth.  He's recognizing the offensive formation, and diagnosing the defense in lock-step with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.  And then he's articulating what a good quarterback like Brady is likely to do, based on those pre-snap reads.

But what makes Romo special is his ability to communicate what he sees.   He's a rare combination -- young enough to know the current NFL game exceptionally well, and articulate enough to bring that knowledge to the masses.
