Little Rock restaurants celebrate FIFA World Cup

Restaurants around town are celebrating the World Cup with unique dishes and drinks.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The World Cup is heating up and even though the U.S. didn't make the cut, restaurants around Little Rock are still gearing up for the games.

Spanish restaurant La Frontera is rooting for Mexico, Brazilian restaurant Bossa Nova is rooting for Brazil and German restaurant Fassler Hall is rooting for Germany.

All three restaurants said the games are not only exciting but give them a chance to show off the culture behind their businesses.

Manager of La Frontera Holiverto Tornes said some of their signature Mexican dishes is their taquitos, carnitas and chorro bean soup.

Manager of Boss Nova Caio Luz said their signature Brazilian dish is made up of shredded chicken salad mixed with peas and carrots whipped in mayo over a bed of rice, paired with a green salad. They also have dessert, which is a four layer chocolate pie that consists of a pecan crust, cream cheese, chocolate and whipped cream.

General Manager of Fassler Hall Ashley Price said they have over 18 different beers on tap, and schnitzel, bratwurst and pork shanks. Fassler Hall also has giveaways and cleat-shaped cups.

The games will be on at all of their restaurants, so whoever you're cheering on might help you pick where you want to watch the games.

Fassler Hall will also be having a fundraiser Sunday, June 17, and 20 percent of all proceeds will go towards St. Edward elementary.
